Indicator Species

Indicator species are species representative of a specific area which are chosen to represent the biodiversity of the reef. Each species has purpose in the hierarchy of the reef and if the numbers drop or grow to great can be an indication of a problem on the reef. The numbers of each species in monitored through a variety of means on Koh Tao by Big Blue and the data is then analysed by Marine Conservation Koh Tao.
