Our mission is simple: to defend, restore, and celebrate our island’s extraordinary marine ecosystems while empowering divers and ocean lovers to become guardians of the sea.

As an eco-conscious dive center and marine conservation school, we live by the principle that paradise must be protected. Koh Tao is a small island with limited resources, fragile coral reefs, and rich biodiversity facing growing pressures from climate change and tourism. That’s why every dive you make and every project you join with us helps sustain our local environment and economy.

At Big Blue Conservation, we don’t just teach marine conservation — we actively shape it. Through a wide range of ocean conservation projects and partnerships with the local community, we tackle real-world challenges like coral reef restoration, marine debris removal, and sustainable tourism initiatives.

We’re also proud to play a vital role in pioneering marine research in the Gulf of Thailand. Our team regularly collaborates with international marine biologists, conservationists, and university researchers to study crucial issues like diver-related reef impacts, ghost nets, and coral recovery after bleaching events. In fact, Big Blue Conservation was one of the very first dive schools on Koh Tao to dedicate an in-house team to scientific marine research — providing the data needed to drive policy changes and protect our reefs for generations to come.

OUR BOATS

Being a part of Big Blue Diving, Big Blue Conservation is one of the only marine conservation schools on Koh Tao with more than one dive boat. That means that as a marine conservation student, you can actually get to the sites you need for your courses WHENEVER you want.

We won’t tie you to our recreational diving schedules. If you need to go to a certain site to learn further your learning  – we’ll get you there.  Learn marine conservation on Koh Tao on your schedule not someone else’s.
